Itinerary
On arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport you will be met by your driver guide who will transfer you to Arusha for your overnight.
After an early breakfast the following morning your guide will pick you up from your hotel for a full day game drive at Arusha national park. Undoubtedly the smallest national parks in Tanzania with close proximity to the city center of Arusha, this park is the perfect place to visit for those looking to enjoy a day trip. Often worried about its small size, most visitors to the park expect not to experience much but contrary to this belief the park dazzles with its perfect mix of wildlife and vegetation. On a visit to the park one may expect to see a variety of wildlife that includes ungulates, primates, the occasional carnivore and a rich diversity of resident and migratory bird species. Additionally, the park is a landscape marvel , ranging from open savannah through acacia scrubland to rainforest and eventually alpine conditions in the higher reaches of Mount Meru. Game viewing can be done in 3 ways here. You can choose to cruise around in a 4x4 vehicle or get personal with nature on walking or canoeing safaris offered at an extra cost.

Depart for Tarangire national park after breakfast for a 2 day stay in one of Tanzania’s most underrated national parks. Also known as the little Serengeti, the park boasts a variety of wildlife as well as its landscape. During your stay here, indulge in game drives that will take you through gently rolling hills, on to artistically assembled kopjes, across the face of massive baobab trees and parklands of umbrella shaped African acacia woodlands that in sync, form a bustling ecosystem in this often-ignored park. Its wetlands, especially the Tarangire river, provide sanctuary for the largest elephant population in Northern Tanzania all year round, most importantly during the dry period when most other water sources run dry. Tarangire also hosts more breeding bird species than any other place on the planet so be sure to test your birding skills when out discovering.

Depart for the famous Serengeti National park after an early breakfast. Your 3 nights spent in these rolling plains means a game viewing experience that is rivaled by no other. Spanning over 30,000 km2, these endless plains provide shelter and nourishment for over 2.5 million wild animals. This is where you get to experience the great wildebeest migration and all the marvels that unravel along with it. Over 1.7 million wildebeests participate in this long trod that drags along large numbers of Zebras and antelopes. The cycle begins around March at Ndutu and culminates in February when the wildebeest return to these ashy plains to calve. Highlight of the trek is undoubtedly “the crossing” when the wildebeest and Zebra cross river Mara in pursuit of greener pasture further north. Large populations of these ungulates avails abundance of food for predators such as lions, cheetah, leopard, hyena, crocodile and scavengers like vultures, jackals and marabou stork that can be found scattered all over the Serengeti ecosystem. This factor in combination with the open grass plains means the Serengeti is the best place to see predators in action so be sure to have your camera in hand to capture some great memories. Occasionally the black rhinoceros and African wild dogs, “painted wolves”, can be spotted here so be on the lookout for these precious gems as well.
