Main Info
‘Barani Visiwani’ is a swahili phrase that loosely translates to ‘continental island’, and that is precisely the divine intention of this safari. This 10 nights / 11 days fly-in fly-out safari takes you to the chief attractions to the South and coastal Swahili islands of Tanzania. The safari mainly focuses on the Nyerere National Park (previously part of the Selous game reserve), Ruaha National Park and the romantic spicy island of Pemba.
We take off with Nyerere National park – the largest National Park in Africa, a home to a diverse range of wildlife with huge populations of hippos, giraffes, elephants, buffalos and wild predators bosting as the last true stronghold for African wild dog.
Afterwards, we cross over to the Ruaha National Park, famous for its huge elephant populations migrating through the greater Ruaha ecosystem each year among the vast array of other wildlife and birdlife adorning the beautiful Ruaha landscapes
From Ruaha we fly east, off the Tanzanian coastline, to loosen up on the primeval green Island of Pemba, a tranquil hideaway with a peaceful and romantic atmosphere and one of the best dive sites in the world.

Right off the mainland coastline of Tanzania, Pemba Island is among the very few places where you get to experience a world of true antediluvian Swahili history and culture as well as unraveled natural aesthetic make-up of the world around you. Best kenned for her warm and transparent water in bluish and light greenish shades, soft golden sand, palms and other tropical plants bowing over, one can explicitly feel the seaside sand scratching under your feet and the water physically contacting you tenderly. An impeccable corner to catch astronomically immense ocean waves serenely soothed by the colorful coral reefs, in which you can infrequently optically discern the reflection of the rainbow.
